Day 21: Write about how it would feel to get beaten up without describing the physical pain
Thud. Crack. My head whips to the side as a meaty fist connects with my jaw. I see stars but blink them away, shaking off the encroaching darkness. A booted foot slams into my side and I curl inward to try to protect my ribs. And then the cold pavement rushes up to smack me in the face. I turn my head and spit blood on the gravel, bracing for impact. Instead I’m left for dead in an alley while my brain screams at me to get up before they come back! But even though my life depends on it, I can’t move. Just as well. I needed a nap anyway.
